Four dacoits killed, five injured in police encounters across Punjab and Sindh
Police in Punjab and Sindh have intensified their crackdown on criminal gangs, eliminating four dacoits, including the prime suspect in the killing of 12 police officers, while injuring five others in various encounters.
Meanwhile, separate firing incidents claimed the lives of an elderly woman and two others, while two bodies, including that of a child, were recovered.
In Punjab, police launched a major operation in Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan, where the prime suspect, Shah Mir alias Mera Kosh, was killed in a shootout.
The operation was carried out with the support of armoured vehicles, elite commandos, and heavy police contingents. Hideouts of the criminals in the riverine area were set ablaze as part of the crackdown.

In Vehari’s Burewala district, armed assailants brutally murdered a 70-year-old woman during a robbery, escaping with jewellery and cash.
In Multan’s Khushhali Colony, CCTV footage surfaced showing two motorcyclists robbing a citizen.
Meanwhile, in Depalpur, Okara, police killed a dacoit in an encounter, while his accomplice managed to flee.
Authorities also recovered the body of a 16-year-old boy in Khanpur and another of 40-year-old Muhammad Bilal in Shujaabad.
In Chishtian, Bahawalnagar, a longstanding feud led to a violent clash between two groups, resulting in two individuals sustaining severe injuries from sticks and knives.
In Sindh, two separate encounters in Shikarpur resulted in the death of two bandits and the injury of five others.
One of the slain criminals had a bounty of Rs1 million on his head.
Meanwhile, in Qambar Shahdadkot, unidentified gunmen opened fire near a hospital, killing a 25-year-old youth before fleeing.
Elsewhere, in Sehwan Sharif’s Karam Pur village, a land dispute escalated into a deadly gun battle between two groups, leaving one person dead.
