Karachi crime wave: Robbers snatch Rs4 million, ration stampede kills woman
A major robbery took place in Karachi’s Baldia Town, where six armed men looted Rs4 million, a mobile phone, and other valuables from a dairy trader before fleeing the scene.
According to the details, the incident occurred in Baldia Town’s Madina Colony, where the suspects held the trader at gunpoint and robbed him.
Police have registered a case at the Madina Colony police station and launched an investigation.
Stampede claims woman’s life
In another incident, a woman lost her life during a stampede at a ration distribution event in Baldia Town’s Rangar neighborhood.

Police officials stated that local philanthropists and a Union Council (UC) chairman were distributing rations near a park in Madina Colony when a sudden rush led to chaos, causing several women to fall.
Two women were injured in the incident and were being rushed to Civil Hospital when one of them, aged between 20 and 25, succumbed to her injuries on the way. Her identity has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities confirmed that another injured woman is under treatment at the hospital. They also clarified that permission had been obtained for the distribution event and that the incident was accidental.
According to police, a large crowd, including women and children, had gathered even before the ration distribution began. As soon as the office gate was opened, a surge of people rushed inside, leading to the stampede.
Rescue officials reported that 4 to 5 women were injured after falling to the ground, and one woman was trampled to death.
Following the incident, a heavy police contingent arrived at the scene. Officials confirmed that a private NGO had organised the distribution.
The deceased’s body has been shifted to the hospital for legal formalities while the injured are receiving medical treatment.
