Islamabad implements heavy traffic ban till March 23 for Pakistan Day parade
Heavy traffic will be prohibited from entering Islamabad from noon on March 22 until 3:00 PM on March 23 to facilitate smooth traffic flow and public convenience due to Pakistan Day parade.
On March 23, from 6:00am to 1:00pm, the Srinagar Highway will be closed in both directions between Seventh Avenue and Kudiyanwala Chowk.
Traffic heading to Bhara Kahu should take Seventh Avenue, Pak-China Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Kashmir Chowk, and Club Road.
Due to this route plan, disruptions are expected on the Srinagar Highway and Expressway.
Heavy traffic traveling from Peshawar to Lahore is advised to use the Taxila Motorway or Tarnol Phatak via the Fateh Jang Motorway.
Those coming from Lahore via GT Road to Islamabad and Rawalpindi should take Chak Beli Road to access the Chakri Motorway.
Citizens traveling from Peshawar via GT Road to Rawat should follow the route of Taxila Motorway, Chakri, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat.
Travelers from Lahore via GT Road heading to Peshawar should use Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri, and the Taxila Motorway.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain Zeeshan announced that Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) personnel will be stationed at various points to assist travelers.
He encouraged commuters to call the ITP helpline at 1915 for assistance and to tune in to FM 92.4 for real-time traffic updates.
Additionally, ITP’s social media platforms will provide ongoing information about traffic routes.
