The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) 8171 web portal has recently undergone significant changes, leaving many beneficiaries uncertain about their eligibility for the Rs 10,500 payment.

New changes introduced

  1. Visibility of payment status: The most notable change is that users can no longer view their payment status for the Rs 10,500. Previously, beneficiaries could easily check if they were eligible and see the status of their payments.

  2. Focus on dynamic registry: The portal now only displays a beneficiary’s registration status in the dynamic registry, without providing detailed payment information.

  3. Temporary information access: Officials have stated that this limited access to payment details is temporary, and they expect the portal to revert to showing full eligibility and payment information within a week.

Temporary situation expected to resolve

These changes are part of system updates aimed at improving the accuracy of beneficiary details and addressing registration issues. The verification process has already resulted in the addition of over 100 new beneficiaries but may also lead to the removal of some individuals deemed ineligible.

Guidance for beneficiaries

For those unable to view their payment status, the BISP advises waiting for the portal to update, checking registration status on the portal, or contacting local BISP offices for assistance.

The organization reassures beneficiaries that detailed payment information should be accessible again shortly, and users are encouraged to check back in a week.
