Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, eliminating all 16 terrorists in a fierce exchange of fire.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attempt occurred during the night between 22 and 23 March in the Ghulam Khan Kili area of North Waziristan.

Security forces monitored the movement of a group of insurgents attempting to cross the border and responded with an immediate and effective operation.

The ISPR spokesperson stated that security forces engaged in heavy gunfire with the infiltrators, neutralising all 16 militants.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan interim government to ensure effective border management and prevent its territory from being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz praises security forces

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the security forces for successfully thwarting an attempted infiltration by militants at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The prime minister praised the professionalism of the officers and personnel involved in the operation, stating that terrorists’ nefarious designs will never be allowed to succeed.

He reaffirmed that the nation stands firmly alongside the armed forces in their unwavering commitment to protecting Pakistan from terrorism.

Interior minister commends forces

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the security forces for their swift and decisive action against the infiltrators.

He acknowledged the forces’ role in neutralising 16 militants attempting to cross into North Waziristan, ensuring they met a fitting end.

The interior minister further praised the professional capabilities of the security personnel, emphasising that their success in eliminating these terrorists demonstrated Pakistan’s resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has strongly condemned the infiltration of Khawarij terrorists along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border while praising the swift response of the security forces.

In his statement, the speaker lauded the exceptional capabilities of Pakistan’s security forces for eliminating 16 Khawarij terrorists.

He emphasised that the unwavering commitment of the security forces to eradicating terrorism is commendable and reaffirmed that the entire nation stands in solidarity with its brave armed forces in this battle.

Paying tribute to the sacrifices of security personnel for the country’s safety and stability, Ayaz Sadiq vowed that the nefarious designs of terrorists would never succeed.

He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to take all necessary measures to protect its borders, ensuring that enemy forces face inevitable failure.
