Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day, reaffirming the commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership and cooperation between the two nations.

In a formal letter addressed to the Pakistani premier, President Aliyev highlighted the significance of the growing collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan across various sectors.

He underscored the success of joint efforts in economic development, transport, logistics, energy, investment, and the defence industry, stressing that these areas hold key importance in enhancing bilateral ties.

He also praised the two countries’ aligned positions on global affairs, calling it a testament to the strong brotherly bond between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani president further noted that relations between the two nations are built on mutual trust, shared cultural values, and solidarity. He acknowledged the increasing high-level visits, meetings, and diplomatic engagements, emphasising their role in advancing bilateral cooperation.

He specifically lauded the productive discussions held during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent official visit to Azerbaijan, which, he said, were based on trust, understanding, and sincerity.

Referring to agreements signed during the visit, President Aliyev expressed confidence that these developments would positively shape the future of Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations.

He affirmed that both nations would continue to expand their traditional friendship and strategic partnership, further strengthening the fraternal bond and unity between their people.

Concluding his message, the Azerbaijani leader extended his best wishes to PM Shehbaz Sharif for good health and success, while praying for peace, prosperity, and continued development for the people of Pakistan.
