A violent clash broke out between police and lawyers at the Industrial Area police post of Lahore’s Kahna police station, leaving Punjab Bar Council member Zameer Jhedo, Model Town Bar Vice President, and the police post in charge injured.

According to sources, the police took Model Town Bar Vice President Waqas Kahlon into custody, prompting a large gathering of lawyers outside the police post in protest.

Officials claim that the altercation began when police attempted to take action against illegal occupants, but lawyers, led by Zameer Jhedo, allegedly stormed the police post.

A spokesperson for the DIG Operations stated that seven illegal occupants were arrested on the spot.

The official further alleged that Zameer Jhedo and his associates used firearms during the incident.

The spokesperson confirmed that Zameer Jhedo was arrested for injuring Sub-Inspector Nadeem, the in-charge of the police post. The injured officer was shifted to Lahore General Hospital for medical treatment.

Senior police officials, including the SSP Operations and SP Model Town, are monitoring the situation.

Authorities also reported that supporters of the arrested individuals attempted to block roads in protest.

The DIG Operations’ spokesperson warned that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

Model Town Bar vice president’s stance

Waqar Kahloon, the injured vice president of the Model Town Bar, claims that the disputed land in Jhedo village, Kahna, belongs to him and his family as legal heirs.

He alleges that influential individuals are trying to seize their agricultural land with the assistance of the police.

However, according to law enforcement, the police outpost in the Industrial Area acted on a written request from the Revenue Department.

The operation to reclaim the land was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Nishtar Town and the Tehsildar, who deemed the eviction to be lawful.
