Martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali being observed across Pakistan
In anticipation of the Youm-e-Ali procession taking place today in the metropolis, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) on the 21st of Ramadan, authorities have implemented a ban on pillion riding and announced a comprehensive traffic plan in response to the expected road closures.
This procession will proceed along designated routes, concluding at the Hussainia Iranian Mosque.
In Lahore, the central procession for the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) will commence from Mochi Gate. The Karachi Traffic Police have issued a traffic plan, and stringent security measures have been put in place for the processions.
In a statement from the Karachi Commissioner, a ban on double riding of motorcycles has been enforced under Section 144 during the occasion of Yaum-e-Ali. All educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed for the day.
The main procession in Karachi is scheduled to start at 1pm from Nishtar Park and will terminate at the Hussainia Iranian Mosque in Kharadar. Roads and streets along the procession route have been blocked with containers.
Participants will be allowed entry only through walk-through gates, and closed-circuit cameras have been installed along the routes for security. The procession will follow traditional paths, concluding at the Hussainia Iranian Imam Bargah.
Shops along the procession route have been sealed, and M.A. Jinnah Road has been closed for traffic. Entry to the road leading to the corridor from the parking plaza has also been restricted.
Comprehensive security arrangements have been established, with over 4,000 Rangers and police personnel deployed for duty. The procession will proceed from Nishtar Park through various roads, including Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father James Road, M.A. Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Regal , Preedy Street, and will continue to Kharadar, Nawab Mohabbat Khanji Road, and the Hussainia Iranian Imam Bargah.
Traffic will be redirected towards Soldier Bazaar, Coast Guards, and Anklesaria Chowk leading towards Nishtar Road. Passengers from Nazimabad heading to M.A. Jinnah Road will be diverted from Lasbela towards Nishtar Road and then towards Garden.
Traffic coming towards M.A. Jinnah Road from Liaquatabad will be rerouted from Teen Hatti Chowk towards Jail Road and Martin Road, while traffic from Stadium Road heading towards M.A. Jinnah Road will be permitted to approach via New M.A. Jinnah Road.

Karachi authorities seal off procession routes, issue traffic plan for Muharram 8, 9, 10
Vehicles can reach from Shahrah-e-Qaidin to Shahrah-e-Faisal via Dada Bhai Noorji Road, Kashmir Road, and Society Light Signal. Traffic from Gulberg towards M.A. Jinnah Road will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, before heading to Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, and proceeding towards Mauripur from Sher Shah.
No traffic will be allowed to pass through Gurumunder along the procession route.
