Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi slip further in latest ICC T20 rankings

Babar drops to eighth in batting rankings, while Shaheen falls six places in bowling rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest T20 player rankings, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi both slipping further down the charts.

According to the updated rankings published on the ICC website, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has dropped one place to the eighth position, while fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has suffered a significant six-spot decline, landing at 30th.

In the T20 batting rankings, Australia’s Travis Head remains in the top spot, followed by India’s Abhishek Sharma in second and England’s Phil Salt in third.

India’s Tilak Varma is ranked fourth, while his compatriot Suryakumar Yadav sits in fifth.

England’s Jos Buttler is sixth, Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka is seventh, Babar Azam holds the eighth position, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan is ninth, and Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera rounds out the top ten.

New Zealand’s Tim Seifert has made a significant jump, climbing 20 spots to reach 13th place, while his teammate Finn Allen has moved up eight places to 18th.

In the bowling rankings, no Pakistani bowler is currently featured in the top 20.

Among Pakistani pacers, Haris Rauf has gained four spots to claim 26th place, whereas Shaheen Afridi has dropped six places to 30th. West Indies’ Akeal Hosein remains the top-ranked T20 bowler.
