Pakistan’s rising cricket star, opener Hasan Nawaz, delivered a stunning performance against New Zealand in the third T20I, but his mother chose not to watch the match out of fear that her gaze might bring him bad luck.
Hasan Nawaz’s parents, hailing from Kotla Haji Shah in Layyah, expressed immense joy over their son’s incredible innings.
His father shared that despite limited resources, Hasan never lost hope and worked tirelessly to reach this level.
“We are incredibly proud of him and grateful to God for this achievement,” he said.

His mother, while celebrating his success, revealed, “I was too afraid to watch the match, fearing that my own gaze might bring him bad luck.”
Hasan Nawaz played a match-winning knock of 105* off just 44 balls in Auckland, securing Pakistan’s victory.
His exceptional innings not only earned him the Player of the Match award but also saw him surpass Babar Azam’s record for the fastest T20I century by a Pakistani batsman.
Speaking after the match, Hasan dedicated his century to his father, acknowledging his unwavering prayers and support.
Notably, this was only Hasan Nawaz’s third T20I appearance, making his record-breaking performance even more remarkable.
