Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said on Friday that pressure on fuel prices is inevitable due to rising international oil prices and ongoing global crises and war, according to post on X.

To reduce the burden, a monthly targeted subsidy is being provided, she said that Rs 70,000 will be given for registered goods transport, Rs 80,000 for large vehicles and Rs 100,000 for public service buses.

She urged transporters across Pakistan, especially in Punjab, to support the public and not pass on the impact of higher fuel costs to passengers and consumers.

The provincial government will closely monitor the situation and regulate effectively to ensure the relief reaches people, she said, calling for responsibility, compassion and solidarity.
