A suicide bomber attacked the Domail Police Station in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday, but security forces prevented him from reaching the station.

Five civilians were killed, including three women and a child, while four others were seriously injured.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving immediate medical care.

Rescue teams and residents are removing debris and assisting with relief efforts.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend those responsible.

Officials said the attackers aimed to incite violence among the local population, but operations under the National Action Plan will continue until all perpetrators are eliminated.
