Jack Black hints at his return for ‘Jumanji 4’
Jack Black is set to return to the jungle for “Jumanji 4”! During a rapid-fire game on TODAY with Craig Melvin on April 1, Black confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel is in the works.
While he mentioned that a continuation of “School of Rock” is “not likely,” he urged fans to be hopeful about the new “Jumanji” installment, stating, “It’s in the works,” with a “high” probability of it being made.
In a playful revelation, Black shared, “Spoiler alert, I’m in it!” His comments come shortly after expressing uncertainty about his involvement in “Jumanji 4” during a chat with Deadline, saying, “Well, we’ll see. I hope so,” and added that he doesn’t believe filming has begun yet, humorously reflecting on his career by stating, “I’m pretty sure I’m retired.”
The original “Jumanji,” released in 1995, starred Robin Williams and was based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg, featuring children trapped in a magical board game set in the jungle.

The franchise was revived in 2017 with “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” which starred Black alongside Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Kevin Hart.
The last film, “Jumanji: The Next Level,” was released in 2019, with Black returning as the character Oberon. While Black jokingly predicted that “Jumanji 4” would premiere in Christmas 2030, the actual release date is expected in 2026.
