Zayn Malik has revealed that his daughter was the main reason behind his collaboration with Jisoo of BLACKPINK on the track “Eyes Closed.”

In an interview with SiriusXM’s The Pulse, Malik said his daughter is a big fan of K-pop groups like TWICE and BLACKPINK, which encouraged him to work with Jisoo.

“She’s into TWICE. She’s into BLACKPINK, and that was kind of a big reason behind why I did the feature with Jisoo, if I’m being honest, because my daughter’s such a big fan and I wanted to be cool,” Malik said.

The singer added that the collaboration earned him “good dad points,” noting that his daughter enjoys the song and often sings and dances to his music.

Malik also shared that his daughter gives him feedback on his work, though he avoids playing some tracks for her because of adult themes.

The singer is currently promoting his upcoming fifth studio album, KONNAKOL, which is scheduled for release on April 17.
