Biden directs US military to help Israel shoot down Iranian missiles
President Joe Biden has directed the US military to aid Israel’s defence against Iranian attacks and shoot down missiles targeting Israel, the White House National Security Council said on Tuesday.
Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris are monitoring the attack from the White House situation room and receiving regular updates, NSC spokesperson Sean Savett said in a post on X.
Iranian state television has reported that some ballistic missiles launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were aimed at Israeli tanks situated in the Netzarim Corridor.
The Netzarim Corridor was established to separate northern Gaza from the southern region during the initial phases of the Israeli offensive on the enclave.
According to the IRGC, the operation was deemed “successful,” and they accused the Israeli military of imposing strict censorship on the news surrounding the attack.
However, these claims from the IRGC have not been independently verified.
