The Afghan interim government has released an Eidul Azha message from Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban, that mentioned “forcibly repatriated” refugees from neighbouring countries.

He praised the establishment of a Sharia-based system in Afghanistan, highlighting “progress” in reconstruction, agriculture, and economic development.

The Taliban’s supreme leader invited investors and traders to invest in Afghanistan and assured them of the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to ensuring their security and rights.

He emphasised the importance of caring for vulnerable segments of society, including orphans, widows, and the disabled, urging affluent Afghans to provide support to those in need.

Akhundzada commended the efforts of the institutions in serving the people and ensuring their well-being.

He claimed that “special care has been taken for ‘forcibly repatriated’ refugees from neighbouring countries, with ‘Mujahideen’ providing assistance in identification, transportation, health, and land distribution.”

The Taliban’s supreme leader expressed his commitment to establish ties with international community. “Islamic Emirate seeks to establish politcal and economic relations within the framework of Sharia, particularly with the Islamic countries.”

He condemned Israeli attacks on Palestinians, urging other countries to take effective action to prevent such atrocities.

Akhundzada announced that “significant measures” have been taken to address begging in Afghanistan, with thousands of identified needy individuals receiving assistance from the interim government.
