PM Shehbaz offers ‘neutral and transparent’ investigation to India on Pahalgam attack
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warned India that Pakistan would respond with ‘full force’ if its water supply was disrupted by India.
In a first from Pakistan, he also offered India a ‘neutral and transparent’ investigation into the Pahalgam attack, which Pakistan has so far dubbed as ‘false flag’ operation.
Speaking at a passing-out parade of cadets in Kakul, he congratulated the successful cadets and expressed pride in attending the parade.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while reiterating Pakistan’s strong condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, said that Pakistan as a responsible country was open to participate ‘in any neutral, transparent and credible investigation’ into Pahalgam incident.
He said contrary to it on the Eastern border, their neighbour continued a pattern of exploitation and levelling of baseless allegations and false accusations without credible investigation or verifiable evidences in the recent tragedy of Pahalgam which was ‘yet another example of this perpetual blame game which must come to a grinding halt.’
In an apparent reference to India’s announcement of suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, the prime minister said “Any attempt to stop, reduce and divert the flow of water belonging to Pakistan under the Indus Waters Treaty will be responded to with full force and might and no one should remain under any kind of false impression and confusion.”
He emphasized that the armed forces symbolize national unity, organization, and determination.
The Prime Minister affirmed that there would be no compromise on Pakistan’s security and survival, asserting that any disruption of Pakistan’s water supply would be met with full force.
Additionally, he highlighted the government’s commitment to achieving economic stability, stating that national interests will always take precedence.
He declared that every inch of the homeland would be defended and warned that any misadventure would receive a robust response.

Ceremony
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir served as the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with a bugle call announcing the arrival of the Prime Minister, who conducted an inspection of the parade.
High-ranking civil and military officials, including Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, as well as foreign diplomats, were present at the event.
During the parade, cadets performed the national anthem to the melodious tunes of the PMA band. Among the graduates were 13 foreign cadets hailing from Bangladesh, Iraq, Nepal, and Qatar.
Awards for outstanding performance were presented, with the Presidential Gold Medal awarded to Under Officer Zain-ul-Abidin and the Honorary Sword bestowed upon Under Officer Muhammad Hanan Malik.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Overseas Gold Medal went to a cadet from Nepal, while the Commandant’s Honorary Baton was awarded to Under Officer Muhammad Talha Ayaz, and the Lady Cadet Award was given to Cadet Laiba Rahman.
