Pakistan reports over 100,000 active Covid-19 for third consecutive day
Pakistan recorded 7,048 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, making the number of active cases in the country over 100,000 for the third consecutive day.
The positivity rate remained at 11.53 per cent, according to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC0 data issued on Monday.
At least 21 people succumbed to Covid-19 during the last 24 hours bringing the total number of coronavirus fatalities, since the pandemic started in the country, to 29,269.
Currently, 1,423 patients are receiving critical care across the country.
NCOC has also extended Covid related curbs in cities and districts that have recorded more than a 10 per cent positivity rate till February 15, as the Omicron variant continues to infect thousands.
The Covid-19 monitoring body had imposed non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) on January 19, which were extended owing to rising infections across the country.
