After 20 days, Pakistan’s Covid positivity rate drops below 6%

After at least 20 days, the country’s Covid positivity rate dropped to 5.50% on Saturday, according to the National Command and Operation Centre data.

It was recorded as 5.74% rate on August 20 and since then climbed upward until yesterday.

NCOC also reported that of the total 63,181 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 3,480 people tested positive for the virus.

At least 82 people succumbed to the virus on Friday across the country and the total death toll stood at 26,662 mark.

So far 5,373 patients of Covid are on critical care.

NCOC chief Asad Umar on Friday tweeted that at least 50 million people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while more than 20 million people have been fully inoculated against the coronavirus across the country.

According to the NCOC, so far 21,613,626 people have been fully vaccinated against Covid.
