Pakistan tops 26,000 Covid death mark on Friday

Pakistan topped 26,000 coronavirus death toll on Friday, with 57 more fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the data of the National Command and Operation Centre.

The coronavirus positivity rate was 6.33 per cent.

In a message on Twitter on Thursday, NCOC chief Asad Umar urged people to follow coronavirus standard operating procedures and get themselves vaccinated against the virus as the hospital inflow of Covid patients and critical cases of the virus, according to him, are at the highest level since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

According to the government data, 5,606 people infected with the virus are in critical condition.

So far 18,512,319 people have been fully vaccinated against the virus across the country.
