Punjab budget: 10 members of opposition meet CM Buzdar ahead of session

Chief Minister Punjab Usman Khan Buzdar on Sunday met more than 10 members of the provincial assembly (MPA) belonging to the PML-N and PPP.

The meeting happened as the Punjab budget is set to announce its budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 on Monday (today) with an estimated total budget outlay of Rs2.653 trillion, including an Annual Development Programme (ADP) worth Rs560 billion.

The lawmakers who were present during the meeting include Jalil Sharaqpuri, Chaudhry Ashraf Ansari, Muhammad Ghayasuddin, Muhammad Faisal Khan Niazi, Raees Nabeel Ahmed, Azhar Abbas, Syed Abbasi Ali, Tahir Bashir Cheema, Younus Ansari, and Masood Majeed.

The lawmakers briefed Buzdar of the problems respective to their constituencies, at which the chief minister assured them of a solution soon.

Buzdar, on the occasion, told the lawmakers his doors are open to everybody. He said that the Punjab budget will open a new chapter for progress and prosperity in the province.

PTI MPAs and allies have vowed to support the Punjab government for passage of the annual budget 2021-22.

In a joint parliamentary meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi, who is also the parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ), extended complete support to the government over the budget. PTI's MPA from the Tareen group assured Buzadr of complete support.
