Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has urged Pakistan to press Israel for violating the two-week ceasefire agreed to by the US and Iran.

The Lebanese speaker said that despite the ceasefire, Israel was continuing attacks in southern Lebanon, according to the country’s National News Agency.

Berri conveyed his concerns during a call with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Salman Athar, asking him to relay the situation on the ground to authorities in Islamabad.

During the conversation, Berri also praised Pakistan’s role in helping broker regional calm, while emphasising the need for diplomatic efforts to address what he described as repeated breaches of the ceasefire agreement.
