The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved an increase of Rs0.75 per unit in electricity prices for consumers across the country under the monthly fuel price adjustment for June 2026.

According to a Nepra notification, the increase will apply to all consumers, including those of K-Electric, and the additional amount will be recovered through electricity bills issued in August.

The monthly fuel price adjustment is determined based on changes in the cost of fuel used for power generation, resulting in an increase or decrease in electricity tariffs.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had sought an increase of Rs1.20 per unit under the June fuel price adjustment. After reviewing the data, Nepra approved a lower increase of Rs0.75 per unit.

The regulator has issued the notification following scrutiny of the data.

Lifeline consumers, prepaid consumers and electric vehicle charging stations have been exempted from the adjustment.

Earlier, Nepra had increased electricity prices by Rs0.34 per unit under the monthly fuel price adjustment for May 2026.
