Netflix picks much better original TV shows  than original movies
WEB DESK: Currently, everyone seems to prefer Netflix over the original programs. The remarks of Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in 2013 have become true that “the goal is to become HBO faster than HBO can become us.â€
In a very short time, Netflix has reached to the imaginable peak of success, it gives the biggest hits, which makes it popular all over the world. We could say that it is much better at picking original TV shows than original movies.
A report from Rob Toledo, the average rating on a Netflix original movie is markedly lower than one finds with Hollywood movies. He clarified it with a statistic data of 2017 movie releases across a variety of genres.
“Netflix is averaging an IMDB rating of 5.92 for most of their original films. For reference, the recent ‘Baywatch’ film received a 5.8 IMDB star rating. Studio movies are scoring significantly better, at 6.77 average stars. Most notably, Netflix’s standard deviation is far smaller, with very few movies getting high ratings or low ratings, most falling squarely in the middle, meaning no big winners, something they’re still looking for in a film release.â€
Although, Netflix doesn’t care about IMDB rating. If the viewers prefer watching Netflix original movie rather than apparent mediocrity, then we can expect more films coming down next year.
