With the scorching heat everybody in Karachi is familiar with, we all face the problem of boiling hot cars parked outdoors. However, there is no need to fret as you can stop your car from turning into a four wheeled microwave by using a few simple tricks that will keep you feel cool all through summer.

First off; if you have any common sense, never enter your car when its sizzling hot. It takes about a minute for all the poisonous gases and CO2 to leave once you open the doors of your car, according to Rizwan Ali, a local car dealer.

Mr. Ali says “Some people think that tinting your car’s rear windows will help, but you have to put it in the front and the back, preferably at a minimum of 30 per cent. Using a sun visor can also keep the heat away and that can also stop the steering wheel from burning your hands.”

HOT SEATS AND BELTS!!! – burning hot leather seats and seats belts are next on the list. It can be prevented by using seat covers made of cotton.  “Leather seats take about two hours to cool down at room temperature and using a seat cover, which costs about Dh100, prevents the leather from heating up,” adds Rizwan Ali.

Last but not the least! Another quick fix for this trouble is to keep your windows rolled down by about 6 centimeters so that air can circulate in the car while it is parked.
