Karachi records coldest night of this winter season

Karachi has experienced its coldest night of the winter season, with temperatures plunging to new lows.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that the average temperature for January is to be expected around 12 degrees Celsius.

Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius.

The coldest spot in the city was identified at Jinnah Terminal, where temperatures dipped to 6.2 degrees Celsius.

Other areas also reported significant drops in temperature, with Gulistan-e-Jauhar recording 7.5 degrees Celsius and Shahrah-e-Faisal at 11.5 degrees Celsius.

Maripur registered a temperature of 10 degrees, while Bin Qasim reported 11 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological officials indicated that more cold weather is expected in the coming days, urging residents to prepare for the chilly conditions.

One week ago, Karachi and other parts of Pakistan were forecasted to become more intense in the second week of January 2025, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The chief meteorologist at PMD, Sardar Sarfaraz, said that temperatures are expected to drop further during this period.
