Several areas of Karachi received rain on Tuesday, turning the weather chilly in the winter season. The Pakistan Meteorological Department had predicted cold and dry weather throughout the day.

Light rain was reported in Guru Mandir, Saddar Town, Garden, Orangi Town, SITE area, Baldia, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Super Highway, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Defence, Clifton, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, and North Karachi.

II Chundrigarh Road, Saddar, Liaqautabad, Lines Area, Mehmoodabad, PECHS and other areas of the metropolitan city braced for colder temperatures after a moderate downpour in the morning.

The PMD recorded 12 degrees Celsius minimum temperature in Karachi, which is likely to exceed 14 degrees Celsius during the day.

However, the weather will remain cold and dry in most of the districts of the province, while upper areas will witness partly cloudy weather and light fog likely to prevail in Jaccobabad, Mohenjodaro, Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu.

PMD’s forecast says that the weather in Punjab is expected to be cold and dry while upper districts will witness partly cloudy weather. The Met Office said there are chances of rain and snowfall in Murree and Galiyat.

However, rain is anticipated in Attock, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narwal and Lahore during evening and night hours.

Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Okara, Qasor, Lahore, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Multan, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding are likely to have light to moderate fog in the morning.

Snowfall will continue in the upper areas of the country. Malam Jabba, Kalam, Astor, Muzaffarabad, and surrounding areas are likely to be blocked today due to the snowfall in the upper areas.

The weather will be cold in most of the districts of the Balochistan province, while it will be very cold in the northern districts and partly cloudy. Downpours are expected in Balochistan at the commencement of February.

When it comes to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, this province will also witness chilly weather throughout the day. However, there are chances of rain in Ismail Khan and snowfall in the mountains.
