Frost expected in Islamabad as cold weather, fog persist

The weather across the country is expected to remain cold and dry on Monday, according to the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD). A dense fog is likely to prevail in some parts of the country.

According to the advisory, frost is expected at a few places in Kashmir and the Pothohar region including Islamabad during the morning.

During the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while it was cold and cloudy in northern parts.

However, the day temperature is likely to remain below normal in most parts of Punjab due to dense fog.

Foggy conditions will persist over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh for the next two days. The PMD advises people to be cautious during travel, especially on motorways, during foggy weather.

However, the minimum temperatures recorded were -1°C in Quetta, 1°C in Islamabad, -1°C in Chitral, -2°C in Dir, -5°C in Skardu, and -2°C in Rawalakot.
