In a robust response to ongoing Indian cyber aggression, a group of Pakistani volunteer hackers has launched a coordinated cyber offensive titled “Operation Salar”. The campaign, which marks the beginning of what some are calling a digital war, saw the successful breach of four key Indian websites in its initial phase.

According to sources, the hackers not only accessed sensitive data from these Indian platforms but also defaced the websites by placing the Pakistani national flag on them — a bold display of digital dominance.

In a public statement, the hackers described their actions as retaliation against India’s cyberattacks, its anti-Pakistan propaganda, and its continued oppression in Indian-occupied Kashmir. They asserted that while Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, it will not remain silent if its sovereignty, security, or national dignity is challenged.

“Operation Salar is a warning, not the end,” the statement read, signaling the possibility of more extensive cyber operations if hostilities continue.

The operation is rapidly gaining traction on social media, where the hashtag #OperationSalar is trending. Users are applauding Pakistani hackers for what many have dubbed India’s “cyber knockout.” Some users are even urging the group to widen the campaign to include Indian media, financial institutions, and defense-related platforms.

This comes amid escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, particularly in the digital realm, where cyberattacks are increasingly being used as tools of statecraft and retaliation.
