India’s cowardly overnight strike on civilian areas in Pakistan has begun to reverberate beyond the battlefield — this time disrupting the country’s biggest cricketing spectacle.

According to Indian media reports, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, originally scheduled for May 11 in Dharamshala, has been moved to Ahmedabad. The change comes in the wake of India’s air assault on several regions of Azad Kashmir and Punjab, which killed 26 civilians, including two children, and injured 46 others. Two mosques were also reportedly destroyed in the attack.

The Times Now report confirms that the match relocation is linked to security concerns, though the BCCI is still awaiting formal clearance from local authorities for the venue shift. Dharamshala is Punjab Kings’ secondary home ground, where they had planned to play three matches this season. The team has already played one match there.

Initially, Mumbai was considered as the alternate venue, but officials ultimately opted for Ahmedabad — a neutral site meant to deny either team a home advantage.
