Pakistani envoy counters Sky News journalist on Rafales with ‘evidence’
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, firmly responded to pointed questioning by Sky News anchor Yalda Hakim during a recent interview, where the journalist appeared to echo the Indian stance on the downing of Indian Rafale jets.
Hakim, who has been widely criticized for her perceived pro-India bias in recent coverage, challenged Pakistan’s narrative by referencing comments made by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, suggesting that social media posts were being used as evidence to support claims of downing the jets.
In a composed but assertive response, Dr. Faisal advised Hakim to maintain a respectful tone and countered her claims by citing a report by CNN. According to Faisal, the outlet had quoted senior French intelligence officials confirming that multiple Indian aircraft had indeed been shot down by Pakistan.
“I hope you’ve seen the CNN report,” said Dr. Faisal. “It cites a senior French intelligence official who confirmed more than one aircraft was destroyed. I don’t usually doubt CNN they are a globally recognized name.”
The exchange has drawn significant attention online, with observers praising Dr. Faisal for maintaining diplomatic composure while defending Pakistan’s position on a sensitive and escalating regional issue.
