Imran Khan delegates talks with establishment to Gandapur and Saif
PTI Founder Imran Khan has tasked Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Saif with negotiating with the establishment after a significant discussion in Adiala Jail.
The meeting between PTI’s leadership and Khan in Adiala Jail focused on governance issues, internal party disputes, and the growing concern over corruption.
Despite initially declining to engage directly, Khan appears to have opened the door for negotiations through trusted allies.
Gandapur and Barrister Saif’s mission
Sources told Aaj News that the meeting’s primary focus was to persuade Imran Khan to engage in talks with the establishment. Both Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Saif successfully convinced the PTI founder to delegate the responsibility of negotiations to them.
Subsequently, Imran Khan gave them the task of negotiating with the establishment, signaling a shift in the party’s strategy.
It was agreed during the meeting that any progress from the negotiations would remain confidential for now, with no public disclosure until further developments occur.
PTI’s internal issues
Gandapur entered the prison through Gate No. 5, and the meeting took place in the conference room.
The discussions covered governance matters, disagreements within the party, and complaints about corruption.
This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to address internal party challenges, following up on the discussions from a day earlier, when PTI leader Azam Swati had visited the jail with a special message for Khan. Swati had also tried to persuade Khan to approve talks with the establishment. During their meeting, Swati informed Khan that his release could happen soon, highlighting a possible breakthrough in his legal situation.
