Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a crackdown on government employees involved in anti-state propaganda and activities, declaring that any institution head unable to implement these directives should step down.

The decision was taken during a high-level administrative meeting chaired by CM Bugti in Quetta on Monday.

Senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and secretaries of home, education, health, finance, and services departments, attended in person, while divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, DIGs, and district police officers joined via video link.

The meeting began with prayers for fallen security personnel, followed by a detailed briefing on the province’s law and order situation.

Strict action against anti-state elements

CM Bugti emphasised that any government employee engaged in anti-state activities would face strict legal action. It was also decided that individuals promoting anti-state narratives would be added to the Fourth Schedule, allowing authorities to closely monitor their activities.

To reinforce national unity, the hoisting of the Pakistani flag and the recitation of the national anthem have been made mandatory in all educational institutions across the province. CM Bugti issued a clear ultimatum to officials: “If any institution head fails to implement these orders, they should resign.”

Commitment to law and order

The chief minister reiterated that restoring law and order is the government’s top priority and warned that no group would be allowed to block highways or disrupt public life.

He also vowed to eradicate corruption at security checkpoints, calling it unacceptable.

CM Bugti declared that state officials adopting anti-state rhetoric would face severe consequences and stressed the importance of upholding the constitutional oath.

He reaffirmed that the government would not bow down to hostile forces and would combat anti-state elements at every level.

Emphasising Balochistan’s deep-rooted traditions of peace and brotherhood, Bugti condemned acts of violence against innocent labourers and travellers.

He also warned that Baloch youth were being misled into a futile conflict, and the government would take steps to prevent this.

The chief minister concluded by underscoring the need to uphold merit and rebuild trust in the state, ensuring that young people see the government as a reliable and just institution.
