Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has dismissed rumours regarding Imran Khan’s health and treatment in jail, stating that the former prime minister underwent a routine check-up and is in good health.

He also denied reports that Khan was denied pre-dawn (sehri) meals or restricted from prayers.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Raja said the claims were baseless and politically motivated.

He emphasised that Imran Khan is in jail for the sake of the nation and is being treated by the law. He criticised those spreading misinformation, calling it an attempt to mislead the public.

Addressing concerns about PTI’s leadership, Raja clarified that Khan has no grievances with the party.

However, he revealed that the former prime minister has not been able to meet his political colleagues for the past five months.

Discussions regarding the party’s future strategy have taken place, but details remain undisclosed. Raja confirmed that Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas has been appointed as the legal representative for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He alleged that some individuals had tried to use their legal representation for political gains, which was why new appointments were necessary.

Niazullah Niazi has been named as Imran Khan’s official spokesperson, while Bushra Bibi has also designated four focal persons to handle legal affairs. Khan has directed Faisal Chaudhry to transfer all petitions to Zaheer Abbas.

On the topic of political alliances, Raja revealed that discussions were held regarding an opposition coalition.

While he refrained from disclosing full details, he stated that Imran Khan wishes Maulana Fazlur Rehman to be part of the alliance.

The PTI leader reiterated that the party remains focused on its legal and political battles, urging supporters to ignore false narratives being spread about Imran Khan’s imprisonment.
