Routes you should follow during Champions Trophy matches in Rawalpindi

The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi have completed arrangements to manage traffic during the Champions Trophy matches at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The Common Training Program has implemented a thorough traffic management plan for the practice match scheduled on Sunday, February 23.

Around 367 traffic police personnel including deputy superintendent of police (DSPs), inspectors, and wardens would be deployed on the roads.

Additional officers have been assigned to manage traffic on alternate routes during the movement of the cricket teams.

Here are some roads that will be closed and opened from February 23 to 27:

  • Murree Road will be completely closed from Faizabad to Double Road during the arrival and departure of teams.

  • Traffic from Islamabad to Rawalpindi will be redirected from Faizabad to the Expressway

  • The vehicles from Rawalpindi can enter Islamabad via Saidpur Road using 6th Road.

  • Traffic from Ghousia Chowk will be diverted to Kurry Road via Farooq Azam Road.

  • During the matches, Stadium Road, from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road Turn, will also be fully closed.

  • Traffic coming from Islamabad via 9th Avenue will enter Rawalpindi through the Expressway

  • Those heading to 9th Avenue from Murree Road via Double Road will access Islamabad through Faizabad.

Five designated parking areas have been established, and a shuttle service arranged by the district administration will transport spectators to the stadium.

The CTP would display banners in various locations to inform the people about alternate routes during the matches.
