Salman Akram Raja: Letters reaching nation, establishments
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) General Secretary Salman Akram Raja has stated that letters are being written and delivered to both the nation and key establishments.
He claimed that the current government, with only 16 seats, is surviving on crutches.
Speaking on Aaj News’ programme “Rubaru” with host Shaukat Paracha, Raja emphasised that these letters carry the voice of the people and are reaching their intended recipients.
He asserted that PTI’s founder considers it his duty to represent the public and ensure their concerns are heard at the highest levels.
Defending recent party decisions, Raja clarified that removing individuals from PTI was the founder’s choice.
“No political party can tolerate disorder within its ranks. No one will be allowed to damage the party’s narrative. If someone believes they are a great leader, they are free to form their own party,” he said. Addressing the expulsion of Sher Afzal, Raja insisted that the decision was made independently and not under any external pressure.
He also dismissed speculation regarding Ali Amin Gandapur, stating that the latter has every right to defend himself.
However, he warned that misconduct would not be tolerated.
“Politics is not a playground for chaos. We will move forward only with those who adhere to discipline and decency,” he added.

Raja also defended PTI’s decision to reach out to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other international bodies.
“Why shouldn’t we send letters and dossiers to the IMF? We won’t falsely claim that everything is fine in the country. We will continue raising our voices against human rights violations. Agreements based on lies cannot be sustainable,” he asserted.
He further criticised government actions against political protests, saying, “If we take to the streets against fascism, we are arrested. We will expose this repression to the world through letters and by revealing the truth.”
PML-N’s Talal Chaudhry responds
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry, also speaking on “Rubaroo”, dismissed PTI’s letters as a mere tactic to gain public sympathy.
He accused PTI of instigating unrest, referring to incidents on May 9 and November 26.
Chaudhry further claimed that PTI is writing letters to both the IMF and state institutions as part of a broader strategy to pressure the government.
“PTI resorts to protests at every crucial moment. Their goal is to compel the state to bow to their demands,” he stated.
