COAS General Munir denies receiving any letters
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has denied receiving any letters amid the former ruling party’s claims regarding such documents.
“I have not received any letters, and if I do, I will not read them,” he said in an informal conversation with reporters during a luncheon hosted in honor of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Thursday.
“If any letter were to arrive, I would forward it to the prime minister. Talk of letters are mere tactics.”
He went on to add that the country was “progressing well, moving forward, and it must continue to advance.”
In the recent past, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has claimed that jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has written at least two letter to the army chief over the people’s “perception” about the military and elections.
In his next letter, his lawyer said Khan wished to express his grievances against the system and propose “structural reforms” to resolve crises faced by the country.
On Wednesday, Faisal Chaudhry told reporters outside the Adiala Jail that Khan’s upcoming letter would outline six key points.

Chaudhry mentioned that he took notes on the letter’s contents during his discussion with Khan and confirmed it would be sent out soon.
The PTI has previously asserted that it sent two open letters to the army chief, both of which have sparked controversy. Security sources denied receiving the first alleged letter, the details of which were leaked to the media. Similarly, the second letter also remained undisclosed, with only its highlights shared via the ex-prime minister’s social media accounts.
It is important to note that the incarcerated former premier does not have access to his X account, and his verified social media profiles are being managed by someone else.
