Mental condition of US woman who reached Karachi for marriage not well: Chippa
An American citizen, who is in Pakistan’s Karachi for her purported lover, has demanded $20,000 – out of the $100,000 – by this week from the government while addressing a press conference alongside charity organisation head Ramzan Chhipa.
“My plan is to reconstruct this whole country. I am asking for $100K or more. I need $20K by this week. OK in my pocket and cash OK that’s a demand to the government. The government is going to fix up these buildings, fix up the streets and clean up these streets. It’s ridiculous out here. I do not like it,” Onijah Andrew Robinson said at a press conference alongside charity organisation head Ramzan Chhipa in Karachi on Friday.
According to officials, the woman has been in Pakistan since October.
Robinson from New York arrived in Pakistan allegedly for her love for Pakistan by a 19-year-old man. The young man had allegedly convinced her of his love, but when his parents discovered that she was nearly twice his age, they refused to approve the marriage.
Onya claimed that she remained stranded for seven days, as her visa had expired after the man left her stranded at the airport.
The woman allegedly missed her flight to the US and then went to the boy’s home. Upon finding the flat locked, she staged a sit-in in the parking area. When journalists questioned her about her visit, she became angry.
“I would love for you guys to please understand that Pakistan is in need of new buses, new cabs, new cars, please listen to what I am saying. My name is Onijah.”
Chhipa described the woman as his “American sister.” But the lady interrupted and claimed that she was from Pakistan. She urged the people to respect the law and God.
“I am married to Nidal Ahmed Memon. I am Onijah Ahmed, we are going to move to Dubai very soon,” she said and demanded that Karachi be re-constructed.
According to her, the money was needed to do real estate. “We will not live here, but we will get this job done right away.
When asked, the American said that she would take her family to Dubai.
Later, the social worker described her as a “Pakistani sister.” Chhipa clarified that the woman would not leave and mentioned her “mental condition.”
The social worker added that her “medical condition was not right a little bit.” He added that the woman has demanded that she should be allowed to meet her husband.

When asked, Chhipa urged the man, because of which the woman was in Karachi, to visit the social welfare organisation’s headquarters. He vowed to solve the matter.
“Without wasting any time you [the woman’s alleged husband] should visit Chhipa headquarters to settle this matter as soon as possible,” he said and added that the development has not brought a good reputation to the country.
“It has been enough,” the social worker said while reacting to the case. “We have been bearing with this situation as her mental condition has been disturbed because of this difficulty.”
