American woman stranded at Karachi airport after being ‘lured for love’ by local teen
A 33-year-old American woman was stranded at the Karachi airport on Tuesday after being allegedly lured for love to Pakistan by a 19-year-old local man from the Garden West area.
The woman was named Onya Andrew Robinson from New York, according to the police.
The young man had allegedly convinced her of his love, but when his parents discovered that she was nearly twice his age, they refused to approve the marriage.
The family also learned that Robinson was recently divorced and has two sons. However, she faced rejection from her partner’s family.
Onya claimed that she remained stranded for seven days, as her visa had expired after the man left her stranded at the airport.
Law enforcement officials have reported that arrangements have been made to issue her a 15-day visa through security agencies.
After receiving her travel ticket, Robinson is set to depart back home soon.
Authorities have noted that the woman has not filed any complaints against the young man, despite the ordeal.
