Always a tresspasser: Criminal record of US woman Onijah found online
A US woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, who has made headlines in Pakistan after accussing a Karachi man of betraying her was arrested in Sout Carolina in 2021, according to a US-based website that also posted a mugshot of Onijah.
The 33-year-old US national forcibly entered a residential buidling in Karachi’s Garden East area on Wednesday and is refusing to leave, ignoring pleas by the residents of the building and the police.
The online record shows that in February 2021, Onijah was arrested for “ENTERING PREMISES AFTER WARNING” in Charleston county. It also reveals that a bond for bail was set at $465. However, it is not clear if the bond was paid. The website also does not clarify if the charges were proven.
The criminal record is available on Mugshots Zone, an unofficial website that tracks arrests across the country. The website states that its aim is to make sure criminal records and information of arrests is public in the interest of public safety.
Onijah Andrew Robbins 33-year-old, a resident of New York, US, arrived in Karachi after falling in love with 19-year-old Nidal Memon, a resident of Karachi, through social media.
After the young man disappeared, leaving the woman after his parents disapproved of their relationship, she survived for a few days using the money she had brought with her and is now out of resources.
She has stated her desire to remain in Pakistan and obtain Pakistani citizenship, refusing medical attention and demanding the return of her dollars. She also claimed during an interview with a news outlet, “I came to live in Pakistan; I don’t know if I’m American or not.”
