Pakistan captain Babar Azam returned to the top 10 of the International Cricket Council’s Test batting rankings for the first time since September 2024, while teammates Abdullah Shafique and Sajid Khan also climbed the latest rankings following their series against the West Indies.

Babar moved up five places to 10th after scoring 88 runs in the first innings of the second Test and an unbeaten 24 runs in the second as Pakistan won by eight wickets.

Abdullah, who scored an unbeaten 160 runs in the first innings, jumped 25 places to 32nd among Test batters.

Spinner Sajid also moved up five places to 30th in the Test bowlers’ rankings and five places to 32nd among Test all-rounders.

Pakistan ended a wait of more than three years for an overseas Test victory by beating the West Indies in the second Test.

Australia’s Travis Head retained top spot among Test batters, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah remained first among bowlers and Ravindra Jadeja retained the top position in the all-rounders’ rankings.

There were also changes in the latest ODI rankings following Afghanistan’s two matches against Ireland.

Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz moved up three places to 11th among ODI batters after scoring 71 in Belfast.

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi climbed four places to 50th, while Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher re-entered the rankings in joint 59th.

Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan further strengthened his position at the top of the ODI bowlers’ rankings after being named Player of the Match in both games of the series against Ireland. He took six wickets in the second match.

Ireland fast bowler Mark Adair also re-entered the ODI bowlers’ rankings at 17th.
