LHC issues notice to federal govt over slow internet speeds
On December 11, the Lahore High Court (LHC) held a hearing regarding a petition aimed at improving internet speeds across Pakistan.
The court has issued notices to the federal government and relevant authorities, requesting their responses to the matter.
Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal presided over the session, which was initiated by the Judicial Activism Panel.
According to the petition, data from the World Population Review ranks Pakistan 198th globally in terms of internet speed.
The petition seeks court orders to enhance internet speeds nationwide and to remove restrictions on the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
