PTA says it has repaired faulty cable causing slow internet services

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said on Tuesday a fault in cable segment, which was reported on Monday near Fujairah, UAE and caused slow internet service for some users in Pakistan, has been repaired.

"[The] work is underway to make the services fully functional," read a tweet by the PTA.

A slow internet speed was reported nationwide on Monday as a fault occurred in the 25,000-kilometres-long Asia-Europe double AE1 cable, according to a Geo news report.

As per the report, a major 40-terabyte cable was ruptured near Fujairah, UAE, which resulted in a slow internet speed across Pakistan.
