Unofficial and unverified results from the third and final phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections continued to emerge on Monday, with candidates from four different parties leading in the four constituencies.

According to results received by Aaj News, Awami Dast-o-Bazoo Party candidate Sajid Abbasi was leading in LA-14 Bagh, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Muhammad Khan was ahead in LA-15 Bagh, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Qamar led in LA-16 Bagh, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mohsin Aziz was ahead in LA-17 Haveli.

In LA-14, results from 67 polling stations showed Sajid Abbasi leading with 11,819 votes, while Muslim Conference candidate Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan had secured 4,317 votes.

In LA-15, Muhammad Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami was ahead with 8,783 votes based on results from 81 polling stations. PPP candidate Sardar Ziaul Qamar was in second place with 5,128 votes.

In LA-16 Bagh, results from 17 polling stations put PPP candidate Sardar Qamar in the lead with 2,626 votes. PML-N candidate Sardar Mir Akbar was close behind with 2,548 votes.

In LA-17 Haveli, PML-N’s Mohsin Aziz was leading with 2,870 votes from 17 polling stations, while PPP candidate Faisal Rathore had secured 2,530 votes.

Polling in the four constituencies — three in Bagh and one in Haveli — ended at 5pm, with voters already inside polling stations allowed to cast their ballots. Vote counting began after polling closed.

A total of 72 candidates were contesting the four constituencies, with around 460,000 voters eligible to cast their ballots.

The four constituencies were originally part of the third phase of polling after elections in seven constituencies of the Poonch division were postponed due to the law and order situation.

The postponed constituencies include five in Poonch and two in Sudhanoti. The Election Commission is expected to announce a fresh schedule for those seats.

The final phase featured several prominent candidates, including incumbent AJK Prime Minister Faisal Rathore and former prime ministers Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.

The first phase of the AJK elections saw the PML-N win nine of 13 seats in the Mirpur division, while the PPP secured four.

In the second phase, the PML-N won 15 of 21 seats, and the PPP took the remaining six.

The results cited above are unofficial and unverified and may change as counting continues and final results are announced by the election authorities.
