Trump declares he won’t run again if he loses November 5 election
US Former President Donald Trump stated that he would not pursue a fourth consecutive run for the US presidency if he loses the upcoming election on November 5, declaring, “that will be it.”
If his third attempt fails, Trump expressed doubt about running again in four years, emphasizing his hope for success in the current race.
Regarding his time away from the presidency, Trump suggested it could have been easier had he been in office continuously, but he believes it revealed the shortcomings of his former allies.
He also noted it is still “too early” to discuss potential cabinet appointments should he win in November.
“But the benefit is more than anything else, it shows how bad they were,” he added in his recent interview.
Trump is currently in a tight contest against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, with polls indicating a close match in critical battleground states. While Harris has begun to gain an edge in nationwide polls, the race remains competitive.
He continued to allege that widespread voter fraud was responsible for his 2020 loss to President Joe Biden, despite facing federal and state charges related to efforts to overturn that election. He denied any wrongdoing and claimed the legal challenges were politically motivated.
