A man in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh was arrested after he was discovered sleeping soundly on the floor of a house he had broken into with the intent to commit robbery.

According to the police, the man was highly intoxicated and fell asleep inside the residence after finding an air conditioning unit and turning it on.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday when a man gained unauthorized entry into a house located in the Indiranagar area of Lucknow.

The house belonged to Sunil Pandey, who was posted in Varanasi and was away from the residence at the time of the incident.

The intruder broke into the property by opening the front gate.

The front gate of the house was open, as Pandey’s neighbors contacted him.

However, since Pandey was not present in Lucknow at the time, he informed the police about the situation.

When the police arrived at the scene, they discovered the intruder sleeping comfortably inside the house, with the air conditioning turned on.

According to DCP North Zone R. Vijay Shankar, the man had entered the house to commit theft but ended up falling asleep.

“He was heavily intoxicated, which caused him to fall asleep and be unable to wake up. The neighbors reported the incident, after which he was arrested,” the officer told India Today.

The police stated that further action would be taken in this matter.
