Indian man kills teenage daughter for talking to a boy over phone
An Indian man has killed his minor class 10 daughter over having an alleged relationship with a boy in the Gudamba area of Lucknow.
On Tuesday, police apprehended the suspect after the man escaped the crime scene.
In the early hours of Tuesday, police got a distressed call on U, stating that a girl’s body had been discovered.
“The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and the the accused, a 40-year-old mason who also runs a small shop in the area, has been arrested,” deputy commissioner of police, North, Abhijith R Shankar said.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), the younger siblings of the victim informed the authorities about the confrontation between their father and sister, which tragically escalated into a violent altercation.
The DCP further disclosed that the father allegedly strangled the girl before resorting to attacking her with a sharp weapon.
Police officials discovered a wound caused by a pointed weapon, alongside evidence of physical assault. The weapon in question was subsequently seized.
In light of the incident, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under IPC 302, charging the accused father with murder.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Gudamba Police Station, NK Srivastava, revealed that aside from the victim, three other children reside in the family.
To determine the state of the accused, the authorities plan to conduct a medical examination to ascertain whether the father was under the influence of intoxicating substances during the time of the incident.
The investigation into this tragic event is currently underway, bringing attention to the urgent need for addressing domestic conflicts and ensuring the safety of vulnerable family members.
