UK and Pakistan collaborate to explore green financing
The UK and Pakistan have agreed to enhance their collaboration in key areas for socio-economic development.
This commitment was solidified during a meeting between the British High Commission Development Director in Pakistan Jo Moir and Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema on Wednesday.
Moir expressed her unwavering support for exploring innovative green financing instruments to tackle climate change and bolster social sector initiatives in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

This collaboration will leverage the UK’s expertise in public administration to strengthen the capacity of Pakistan’s bureaucratic system, paving the way for efficient and effective implementation of these initiatives.
In a press release, it was stated that the meeting was also attended by FCDO team leader Rizwan Azam and senior officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, highlighting the strong partnership between the two countries.
Moir acknowledged the collaborative efforts undertaken to address critical issues such as poverty reduction, climate change, and the strengthening of financial management and accountability.
