The government has expanded the domain of the Islamabad Traffic Police by allowing them to issue driving licences to non-residents of Islamabad.

Residents from any part of the country can obtain driving licenses from Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Monday. He declared the revocation of all permits for illegally tinted windows.

He also announced facilitation programmes for students of colleges and universities, as well as senior citizens in the federal capital.

Driving licenses for students will be processed and delivered directly to their institutions while residents over the age of 70 in Islamabad will have their licenses issued at their homes.

He inaugurated the Islamabad Traffic Police Facilitation on Wheels and Islamabad Traffic Police Education on Wheels at the ITP headquarters on Monday. The minister also unveiled the mobile licenses and learning vans operated.
