Peshawar High Court dimissed 35 petitions challenging the re-take of the MDCAT in the province, adding that the court could not interfere in the matter.

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Shakeel Ahmad decided the case, adding that faith in Pakistan’s institutions seemed to be dwindling.

The bench also added that classes had already begun and unsuccessful candidates should prepare for the test next year.

However, they also told authorities to stay away from the responsibility if a transparent exam cannot be insured.

A student named Arif told the court that he should be hanged if it was proved that his test results were inaccurate.

However, the bench told the petitioner not to waste the court’s time.

The results of MDCAT, the test for medical colleges in Pakistan, had sparked outcry from students after alleged discrepancies.

As tales of cheating in the exam became a known, a re-test had also been organised.
